Ohh, Baby.

Yes, it's true....

We've been praying for you, little one. We prayed that we would hear the news we've so been waiting for--the news of your existence, and we are continuing to pray for your development and safe arrival. We are so blessed and we couldn't be more thrilled. You don't know it yet, but you are already so loved. I have long dreamed of you, just as I did your sister. And a proud "big sister" she is...

We can't wait to meet you.
For You created my innermost being; You knit me together in my mother's womb. I praise You because I am fearfully and wonderfully made." --Psalm 139:13-14

The Zoo

I have always loved the zoo, and having Adelynn has only given me a better excuse to enjoy the zoo, because really--there is nothing more enjoyable than seeing the zoo through the eyes of a child. So with Brian being on vacation this past week, it gave us the perfect opportunity to hit the zoo.

When I think of the zoo, I usually think of lions, tigers, bears, monkeys and the like. But this time, our animal of choice....

Yep, that's right, the girl loved the goats!  Maybe it was their playful nature or perhaps their lack of sense when it came to personal space, but whatever it was---she was in love!

And the horse and baby chicks, too...Maybe we should have just visited a farm?

We did get around to the other animals, and she did like them. But really, they were just not as fun if she couldn't play with them or touch them....

Then there was "Chancey", or what we would call a lion---even "big kitty" would have worked. But nope, he was a Chancey. And a BIG Chancey he was...

We had wonderful time, and I'm thinking the zoo may become a favorite of Adelynn's. :)

Our Chance.

This girl...she love's her "Chancey".

Yes, I'm really writing a post about our dog. Our stinky, sweet, hairy, gentle, dirty, loyal dog....

I adopted Chance when I was in college. He really is a good dog..so to speak. He is so sweet with Adelynn. He's very calm and gentle, and he doesn't chew up things or potty on the carpet. Then here's where the "so to speak" comes in...

He sheds profusely (not his fault, I know), can be pretty stinky (again, not his fault), and occasioanlly he runs. When I use the term run, I mean like a bat out of hell. He used to aways somehow find a way to squeeze out the door, and he would run. Like run and not look back. And if he did look back, he would have a 'this is fun, come and get me' sort of look in his eye. No. Not fun. Sometimes he'd be gone for hours at a time. It would make me so stinkin' mad.

See, this guy and I, we have love/ hate relationship. Most of the time he drives me nuts. Don't get me wrong, I cry just as much as the next person whenever I see the ASPCA commericals, but I just get so irriated constantly cleaning up dog hair and always worrying people are going to think we're filthy when they sit on our floor and leave with a mess of dog hair on them. And then add the running too, well...lets just say we have our days.

But she loves him...

So, I guess I'll deal. And ok---I guess I kind of like him, too.
